Elisa Shankle’s curiosity for design, creativity, and nature began growing up in the woods of North Carolina running on the land as a child, as well as visiting her mother’s country in Denmark every summer. Being in proximity to the dichotomy of watching her artist father design and build their home, eating food from the earth, and taking in Scandinavian design and sustainability in Denmark, she plant the seeds of her future path.
She moved from NC to NYC to attend Pratt Institute and received a BA in Interior Design and Architecture. Her entrepreneurship journey spans 10+ years of creating thru the lens of design and wellness. Throughout her design career, she has worked for prominent clients and companies including Sarah Jessica Parker, Carmelo Anthony, Matthew Kenney, and Hinge to name a few.
Her passion for design is undeniable, and her purpose is rooted in integrating both design and wellness in her offerings. This became evident as Elisa began to delve in to her mental health and mindfulness journey and practices recognizing that healing is not a trend, but a lifestyle. Being within the wellness space, she often did not see herself reflected in not only the community, but practitioners as well.
She set out to change this by creating HealHaus with her Co-Founder Darian Hall to shift the trajectory around who wellness is for and what it looks like; inclusive, accessible, and relatable. HealHaus is an online membership platform and workplace wellness company with clients including but not limited to Google, Microsoft, Ulta, Audible, Equinix, Sony, TIME, The MoMa, Vox Media, Spotify, Pinterest, Nike, and many more.
